My frat brother was staff writer at consumer reports. It was tested on a Sunday when they closed on their test equipment in Colchester Ct, its accurate. The engine was designed with the help of former NASCAR driver/car owner who raced at the Riverside Motor Speedway. His car engine was too big for for Stafford or Waterford so stopped racing. He described it as faster greased snot.

So you are saying your 305 700r4 car went 175 mph? Cause your car is making less then 300 hp especially on that stock computer management a "chip" that is actually a prom can only do so much. My car made 380 rwhp and it was lucky to be in the 160's with a 6 speed and it took awhile to get there. With 3:42 gears and a 700r4 which you would have to do it in d so it would be a 1:1 ratio you would have to be at well over 6500 cause at 6k with a tpi setup you are well out of steam. At 6k with 3:45 gears and 28" tall tires you would roughly be at 142mph

Top speed on the dynamo with pro test driver doing doing it. It was not TPI its carb with dual ram air induction. It had hi pro computer chip in it. You have to remember it did not max in rpms where they normally after market cam. reved higher. The horsepower test at the wheels was 304 hp. Gross hp had to be much higher.

If it was a carb you wouldn't have a chip in it. The chip is for the fuel injection and timing. Dynamo? I am assuming you mean dynomometer or dyno for short and in which case 305 hp is not alot at all mu stock ls1 did that. Your gearing would not allow 175 mph maybe the screen said that but it just can't happen. I understand that you had a cam and heads but it is a 305 and it is a conventional small block. It won't make much past 6-6500 max and even then doubtful. We are car guys here and understand how things work.

I don't mean to be negative to you I think you are severely uninformed an either people were looking for money from you or just being extra nice. I am not trying to be a dick i was trying to inform ya but I am not gonna say anymore I wish all the best to you man I hope things work out.

Once I am back in my Condo I scan post the report. I contacted GM Historian 1997 and asked what was highest known speed of 305. I told what got, they said its wasn't possible. Well until I sent copy of the report to them. They where shocked and had an engineer from Chevy call wanted me he wanted a copy test report and all part numbers. Feel free not believe. Btw The cylinder heads not 305 heads the were supposed to be for 350-400 cid only.

You cant fit anything larger than 2.02/ 1.6 valves in a 305 and thats not nearly enough air to breathe for 175mph. Also to fit those you need atleast a .030 overbore or else the valves would be shrouded. My last engine, my 406ci small block made 550+hp and it still wouldnt go 175mph in my car with a TH400 and 3.50 gearing. The fastest SS/SE 305 is in the 10's which still isnt enough power for 175. Im not gonna say its impossible because Ive seen weirder shit done but I'm calling B.S. on that. Not trying to sound like a dick but theres some pretty damn knowledgeable people on here.
