I wouldn't even consider a nitrous kit on a plastic intake car without a window switch either. I've seen what a nitrous backfire can do to an ls1 intake. It's not pretty

My84Z 02-25-2011 09:01 PM

Nothing a new intake can't fix hahah

I'd do a WOT switch, window switch and Fuel pressure switch.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 02-25-2011 09:35 PM

bottle heater. blow down tube. remote bottle opener. and depending on the kit? most kit solenoids suck.

VinnyDz28 02-26-2011 07:52 PM

Car looks and sounds mean. She rips, too ;) thanks for the ride Joey lol

Slowhawk 02-26-2011 09:47 PM

The GTO air box/inlet sucks. We gain about 10/10 by just cracking it open 1".

And harness, and heater box, and hoses, and hood on the car my old friend had lol.

One hell of a shockwave when you're standing next to it flagging the race. But, that's a story for another day lol.

JoeyxGx2 03-03-2011 02:44 PM

Well before I do anything (besides CAI, PP the TB, possible bigger MAF) I wanna port and polish the 243 heads get better springs retainers rockers and pushrods, and a bigger cam with more lsa.. More streetable..

How good are slowhawks street tune ? That's all I need for now

My84Z 03-03-2011 03:42 PM

All his tunes are good he does most of the tuning on street anyways however figure out if u want fi in the future etc if not there are so many good 5.3 head choices for probably same price as getting your stock heqds to a good point.

JoeyxGx2 03-03-2011 04:12 PM

He doesn't tune cars on the street just talked to him, Sooo gotta save up some $..

What are the prices on performance 5.3 heads ?

TBerry95z28 03-04-2011 05:13 AM

same heads I'm looking at tsp 5.3 heads cheap! like 1200$

Batman 03-04-2011 05:45 AM

I'm not a big fan of 5.3 heads, ther is a reason they are cheap, especially if you plan more power in the future. 2/3 of the gain you get over LS1 heads is the combustion chamber reduction, and LS6 heads are right there already. If you had LS1 heads I'd say it may be worth it. Their casting isn't as good as the 243/317 style head either. You are better off investing in the LS6 heads you have or go aftemarket.

My84Z 03-04-2011 02:24 PM

I don't see any big gains with the ls6 heads to the 5.3's when n/a if going forced then absolutely but a stock motor with n.a the compression gain and power is almost the same withint 10 hp. and usualy around 500-700 dollars cheaper.
