Are you talking about the SSC Aero that makes over 1200 hp and runs 9,90s in stock trim ?

I dont know man..........:o

Non saying I would beat him, but I would hold my own (up to 120mph). I would guess the differencial between a turbo GTM and The Areo would be about 200 hp at the crank. With the gearing and extra 500lbs in weight, I believe it would be a divers race until the gearing and CD of the Areo took over. The GTM is a poor mans super-car, the Areo is world class, but with enough engine..... the gap can be nearly mitigated.

This is the one I was comparing it to.....

2006 - SSC Ultimate Aero. Styling of the Aero includes the use of butterfly doors similar to those found on the McLaren F1 and Enzo Ferrari. Carbon fiber and titanium are used throughout the car, helping to limit the weight to 1,293 kilograms (2,850 lb) for the standard Aero. SSC Ultimate Aero - this is the final version of the prototype. Has increased engine displacement of 6.34 L (387 cu in) and increased boost of 14 psi (0.97 bar).

Technical specification

Engine - Superchargerd V8 Chevrolet
Horsepower - 1,046 bhp (780 kW; 1,061 PS) @ 6950 rpm
Torque - 1,113 N·m (821 lb·ft) @ 6200 rpm
Redline - 7200 rpm
Max Speed - 400 km/h (249 mph)[5]

Don't envy me, I am simply older than most of you and I planned years for this build. I got an idea, lend a hand and make that part of the build your own. :smilie_help: I could use a lot of assistance in proper design of the turbo set up. You up for helping a brotha out?

Question.....gloss black or matte black for the roof?

The body will be Viper Copper Head orange. The roof was going to be graphite but the painter has talked me out of metal flake on metal flake. He wants gloss black I am thinking more flat. He said any wax or polishing could shine the matte uneven and basically ruin the paint job.

Thoughts?

ILuvPizzaTimes10 08-05-2012 03:37 PM

gloss black. matte or flat is for little shit imo. like mirrors or something to set it off not the Whole roof.

My84Z 08-05-2012 08:17 PM

Anything "matte" will make the car look unfinished imho

KLAB 08-06-2012 02:57 AM

yeah gloss!!!

black heartbeat 08-06-2012 05:13 AM

Car will be painted this week......Viper Coperhead main color with gloss black roof. So..........

Silver wheels?
All black wheels?
All Black wheels with combo of matte and gloss?
Two tone black and body color?

What do you think? Style not important at this pont, just what color direction...

How do I make a poll?

ZFreie 08-11-2012 01:57 PM

I think all black would look awesome

ILuvPizzaTimes10 08-12-2012 01:02 AM

Poll Added! ALL BLACK!!!!!!

DavidS 08-12-2012 02:12 AM

Voted silver.

The car in the first pic looks like it's on fire and ready for flight.

Kalstar 08-12-2012 03:33 AM

Thx for adding the poll Pizza, much appreciated.

And thanx for the votes so far, keep'em coming.

irockidz28 08-12-2012 01:56 PM

black!!

Kalstar 08-14-2012 12:28 PM

If all black? Matte or gloss?

If silver? Chrome, machined or hyper gray?

frankzlt1 08-14-2012 03:40 PM

black

KLAB 08-14-2012 04:36 PM

For a car of that caliber I'd say use a very impressive deep color like a dark cherry color give it that Stark Industries creation look just remember to wear the suit.

On a side note I'm kinda into white on an exotic looking car, but that seems to be starting to be a little played out:

Heres a color thread ---> http://www.ffcars.com/forums/42-fact...oshop-fun.html

ZFreie 08-17-2012 01:03 AM

Kalstar 08-17-2012 02:36 AM

Kleb, I re-read your post...cherry wheels, I am an ass! Next time I'll read slower.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 08-18-2012 12:12 PM

Cars coming along. What next summer you will be done?

Kalstar 08-18-2012 01:26 PM

Looking like end of November as a best case. I was hoping to have it for SEMA this year but no dice. It will be painted and back to me Sept 1st with all the glass and rubbers installed. Next is installing the Carbon Fiber "stuff" diffuser, splitter, rails, vents and supports. Then all the ducting for the cold air...side intakes and 3/4 intakes, redirect air from roof scoop (please no high pitch whistle) and then the cooling ducts for the brakes (that will take longer than it seems). After that will be the sound insulation and installing the interior. Lastly will be the electronics. I am guessing realistically I'm about 4 to 5 months out. The paint really set me back, I was suppose to get the car back all painted in early April.

KLEB...You said you liked white, So here you go. Here is a pic of my buddy's white GTM with the non-adjustible wing (kinda wish I went that route), he will be 100% finished by SEMA.

This is another local builder, he has more $$ in his engine/trans combo then I will have in my whole car when completed. It is beautiful though!!

ls6monte 08-19-2012 12:22 AM

That is a big $$$$ intake setup! Looks cool!

frankzlt1 08-19-2012 01:44 AM

The engine complete with the intake was 22k from Mast and the trans is Mendeola which was another 10k. I would guess the intake is probably around 5k of that price. Eye candy for sure! But ouch, that's a lot of cake.

Thanx! Yes it is very exciting. Now if I can only stop arguing with the painter/body guy over the increasing costs it would be much more enjoyable.

By this time next year I should have my first scratch.
