Those heads WILL NOT fit on a 305 bore. EVER. And honestly unless you spun the thing to 9000 rpm it wouldnt make any power either. I could use them on my 406 though..

They DID fit and what was on the car. At this point your telling me I do not have the parts ACTUALLY had. Conversation OVER! Here there part list packing materials for the heads, http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...psff87c6cc.jpg

The part number listed on the packing slip IS NOT the heads you posted a link to. Not all heads are the same. The 31400001 heads are the old Twisted Wedge heads, 23* and known for valve guide problems. The link you posted before was for their 18* head which has a minimum 2.100/ 1.6 valve, thats 3.700" of valve, plus the space between the seats. So we will say 3.800.. How does that fit in a 3.671 bore? Im not doubting you had some TFS heads but not the ones you posted. Your engine probably made a honest 350hp at the flywheel which is about 300 to the wheels, now that is logical as I have personally built a 305 with similar power and parts. Went low 12's in a S10 which is no where near enough power to go 175mph. Your car sounds like a very nice build but like John said none of that made sense. I dont want to sound cocky but I probably know more about Small Block Chevys and anyone on here so trust me when I tell you this stuff.

Your missing the point gearing wise it won't do 175 lol

I didnt make my way that far back in the car yet. Was focusing on power requirements first lol

This is reminding me of a time my dad tried telling me he went 190 in his bone stock foxbody

You cant fit anything larger than 2.02/ 1.6 valves in a 305 and thats not nearly enough air to breathe for 175mph. Also to fit those you need atleast a .030 overbore or else the valves would be shrouded. My last engine, my 406ci small block made 550+hp and it still wouldnt go 175mph in my car with a TH400 and 3.50 gearing. The fastest SS/SE 305 is in the 10's which still isnt enough power for 175. Im not gonna say its impossible because Ive seen weirder shit done but I'm calling B.S. on that. Not trying to sound like a dick but theres some pretty damn knowledgeable people on here.

I never said TFS heads dont fit, but the ones you linked to dont. The old 180cc ones do and I think the old 195's as well. But the ones you posted before with the 18* dont. I think youre confused at to which heads you had or something. Also the packing slip is to the old small heads.

My84Z 03-13-2014 03:47 AM

I think again this is a misinformed or just don't know situation. Trick flow make many variations of heads. Just cause they are for 350-400 means nothing. There are 195 185 205 220 etc heads there are different degree heads etc..

PEZ,

Has the insurance company been in touch with you? Do you have Comprehensive Car Insurance?

If you have just the basic minimum insurance and no comprehensive, I'm pretty sure the insurance company will pay $0.
