Last year I promised my 9 year old son that I would drive him to the father/son car show in Hyannis. That is June 16th.....so it needs to be finished and road legal by then.

frankzlt1 04-14-2013 12:06 AM

I have about 4-6 weeks left to go to get her done, I have a dealer plate so I will put that on while I wait for the NH reg to set up the inspections. Getting real close.

Updated Pics.

On a side note, Can any one assist me this week with an audio install in the GTM. The time is getting very tight for the F5R open house (this Saturday) and the Father/Son car show (the next day). It would be sooooo greatly appreciated if someone could lend a hand or two. Beer and Pizza will be on me (the car is currently in Plymouth till Wednesday).

Kalstar 06-12-2013 02:40 AM

I would be willing to pay $$ for a few hands on Friday. Lots of small loose ends that are not hard, just time consuming.

Anyone out there that can help a fellow F-body brother out?

frankzlt1 06-12-2013 09:52 AM

I wish I had the time. Car has came a long way and looks awesome.

Thx Frank, I will keep plugging to see what I can get done, I am taking Thrursday and Friday off to try to get as much accomplished as possible.

Kalstar 06-15-2013 01:30 AM

Looks like a twin turbo is in the works. Met Sam out at the car today, he is going to design and install a twin turbo set up. No goals on power yet but if his car is any indication, it should be something special.

Interior is all done, now just little things.

frankzlt1 06-15-2013 10:43 AM

That's awesome that car will have ridiculous power.

TrickrTreat 06-15-2013 12:17 PM

Nice meeting ya and again im always down to help .

Considering its got an engine bay the size of a Buick Regals trunk , it be too easy haha , almost a must with a car like this, The sound will be crazy . Again if it were mine , twins over a single on this thing

My84Z 06-15-2013 01:19 PM

The car is BEAUTIFUL....!!!!
The stitched upholstery looks great.

Kalstar 06-16-2013 12:35 AM

Thx for the nice words.

I agree, twins it is. Sam when can you start??

Mister Ree, PM me. Would enjoy meeting you. I'll take you for a spin.

I am very happy how it came out, wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions, but now back to my Camaro, still my first love.

My84Z 06-16-2013 12:46 AM

The car came out better then I had dreamed, thx man. The boy did have quite the smile on his face. I love to keep the "car passion" going with the little ones as they are the future of our hobby. There must have been at least 20 kids that sat in the car and got pics from their parents. Adam volunteered to be a trailer guard as the brake lights on the trailer are temperamental. A 2011 trailer and the lights work when they want!?. For his duty, he was given my car to drive around for they day, pretty good trade off I think. Adam is a wealth of knowledge without a selfish one in his body. Really good guy.

Glad I got welcomed into your forum, lots of really great people here. Looking forward to contributing as I can.

smokinss 06-16-2013 03:44 PM

Definitely a sweet ride. Nice to see you out enjoying it and not letting it collect dust. Great job on the build. If I am ever up visiting in the summer I would love to check it out. The mossler plant isn't to far from me here in Florida and those are crazy but I have yet to see a gtm in person.

Kalstar 06-17-2013 11:13 AM

Smokinss, definitely look me up if you are up here. Glad to take you for a spin.

When to the Hyannis Fathers day car show yesterday. For those that have not been, it is truly a premier show, what a hit with the crowd the GTM was. I heard everything from a concept car, to Lamborghini, to the new C7, even a few MC12 and believe it or not, 2 different people asked if it was a CCX. It was great to hear and see the puzzled coments. No one knew what it was. Funny when I said it was a kit car with a truck engine it did not seem to phase them or cause a reaction to like the car any less. Many people came back several times during the day to take more pics and ask questions they had not thought of. At 30k it a pretty good bargain. I told several people the whole car costs less then a set of tires on a Bugatti.

At the end of the day I walked away with 1st place. What a great day it was and the ride out of the car show was epic, and I didn't get arrested.

What a great day.

frankzlt1 06-17-2013 04:11 PM

Congrats kalstar. Car is def. A great looking car, and I bet it moves good to.

DavidS 06-19-2013 12:40 AM

Straight through.

I have a video being uploaded to YouTube. Once it is up I will post the link. It is just a quick sound VoIP of what she sounds like.

David, absolutely. When I am out your way I will drop you a pm.

Kalstar 06-20-2013 09:17 PM

Who wants to hear what she sounds like?

Formula413 06-20-2013 11:22 PM

That is nasty, what kind of cam does it have?

Kalstar 06-21-2013 12:28 PM

I am actually suprised at the lumpiness. It is a small split cam set up for boost. I believe it is... 220-216 580/561 on a 114+2 LSA.

KLAB 06-24-2013 01:13 PM

Thx man but lots of little stuff to finish.

Audio is in....

Here is what it does, 4 point camara mounts (tiny) with on board recording (front, back, one in each side scoop) display and posting capabilities from the cockpit, on board diagnostics and code reader via Bluetooth wireless and wireless OBD2, onboard performance with display of lab times/1/4 mile/0-60/hp/TQ/ect, all of which appears on a fully customizable screen. Of course all of the Nav (with real time traffic updates, radar monitoring and real time speed trap notifications), all the media stuff and Bluetooth stuff too. How about access to 10 million songs. Another cool thing... Anything your iPhone can display including apps will appear and can be controlled on the touch screen. Even has drive-mate that uses the camera and hard drive to record loops of videos that will record if an accident happens, warns of blind spot approaches and lane departures (can be muted). There are so many apps that can be loaded and it can be used with any smart phone. Angry birds at 100mph anyone, ok maybe not.

Thx Klab.

Here is some more info on the system. Best part is this is not expensive. Look at some of the things this can do, down right awesome.

Some of these have overlapping features. So far the apps I have added....

http://www.inmotionsoftware.com/home/?page_id=62 (already had this app)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ikwI...e_gdata_player

http://gps.motionx.com/iphone/

http://cobrairadar.com/overview/

http://appfinder.lisisoft.com/app/dr...nboardcam.html

More to come, audio stuff too. Lots to play with/learn on the 5 apps downloaded.

KLAB 06-26-2013 04:59 AM

My friend did something like that in his Genesis. He put a 7" Android tablet in his dash and has it hooked to that Bluetooth obd2 scanner and has some apps on it and lots of music. Pretty awesome.

monytorris 06-27-2013 06:50 PM

The car looks amazing! Now I wish I didn't buy the fifth gen!
