I've seen guys take home theater speakers (the big ones) and put them in the back of the car

Ive done that to a school bus. 48 12" subs. 24 1500watt amps, 4 200amp alternators, 12 batteries, all done in 1in MDF reinforced with steel and one big almost walkthru port. The whole stereo with labor topped $58000. Most expensive system Ive ever installed. It took 3 months to build. At the first competition it went to with the DB mic in front of the port(illegal in most comps) it hit 172.4db. We had to reinforce everything including 2in plexiglass windshield and windows and you had to bolt the door shut. lol I wish I still had the pics of it. My exwife erased them off our computer when we got divorced.

Wow that's absolutely insane. Never heard of anything like that. It must've sounded really damn good since a school bus is just a big tube haha

It was one of those "short" buses. It was DUMB loud. 170dbs is loud!! The pressure it creates actually hurts if you sit inside the vehicle.

This is Steve Meade's truck. It has 4 18s and 1 15000watt Rockford amp. The damn thing does 160dbs all day. In order for someone to go up 3dbs you need to double the volume. So going upto 170dbs is like doubling his volume and then doubling that and then doubling it again.

HAHAHA that's a riot!! You know a system is loud when someones eye pops out!
