Fuck. if its one thing i HATE is putting lt1 LT's on. im dropping the motor out if i do it.
headers
drop the motor ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh sure about that it has new motor mounts in it should be up high enough with the starter out and steering shaft :lol2-1:
shit i have a new rag joint to go in was goin to do it later though allready built it where the shaft pulls apart like this http://www.unbalancedengineering.com/Camaro/Rag_Joint/ |
whats the point of that unless yours is bad?
real LT1 owners do it on jack stands. just saying
haha i got halfway on jackstands then towed it to sullivan and finished it there lol
pussy. i did mine on my back a couple years ago. ill never put another set of LTs on a LT1
hahaha not with out droping the K member. i wont either!
I did a set on jack stands as well :( no fun and hands get cut to fuck.
me and my buddy installed mine in 20 min, no lie i was able to use a lift. then 4hrs later was able to run car. setting them in wasnt bad the rest of the shit i had to do was a pita.
So it took you 20 minutes orrrrr 4 hours.... I'm gunna go with 4+ hours. I can drop the lt1 cradle with motor on top in under 1.5 hours. Impact on all the manifold bolts 30 minutes.and the headers are on. Motor up hooked up in another hour. Now your at 2+. Hook up y pipe and customize I pipe to fit. All in all the best possible way to do them your looking at 3 hours plus. 20 minutes? Ill pay you to do them.
took me 4+hrs maybe closer to 8 on jack stands, but I did a lot of other stuff while I was under the car. all though an LT1 is much much tighter and I personally would help you do it by passing you a beer while your under the car.
and saying "good luck with that one" lol |
^hahahaha
I'm bustn balls, they were already in the car when I bought it . I decided to take them out to get them cleaned up because of rust, I found out how much of a pita they were to take out it took me about 6hrs fn around then a buddy of mine told me to jack the engine up while it was on the lift ( keep in mind I've never workedon a 4th gen in my life at this time and everything is new to me so I'm learning as I go) once I did this they came out easy enough. For me reinstall it was easy for me it did take me 20 min to get in(also keep in mind I 1as using a lift) the rest or the time putting back together and again it is a learning curve for me. I've seen lots pictures of dropping the k frame but before I do something like that I would've want to talk to someone who done it. And I was doing this stuff before I was talking anybody here.
It wasn't that bad. Its just pulling all the shit off thats a pain. My pacesetters went in and fit pretty easy! Did it without a lift I used ramps... Epic ramps that is ;)

y did u take the front bumper off again?
didn't wanna scratch it lol
That and it wouldn't clear to drive up the ramps with it on.
those r some sick ramps kevo
I did the longtubes on my turd.. Fuck that.. I can do the pass side in 20 mins from the top! Driver side took me 6 hour and I have some nice dents in my firewall for clearance lol
