possible bent tq arm?
So I went to the track last night to mess around and make some n/a passes. The car has a built 9inch with a sphoon chromoloy driveshaft with the spicer u joints. Also running hoosier qtps leaving at 6500rpm. The car does have the stock tq arm in it still and when I put the 9inch in I think it threw off the pinion angle as a had a slight vibration. I've got about 20 passes or so on it and after 2 passes last night I noticed a pretty substantial vibration at 65mph. I am thinking that the tq arm is bent and really threw off my pinion angle. I hope is not a rearend issue. Also the car doesn't seem to be 60' like it was. Any other opinions are welcome. Iam going to check pinion angle tonight.

deff check pinion angle. stock torque arms bend real easy. time for an upgrade either way. your asking for trouble if the stocker crack at the housing flange your in deeepppp doo dooo
|
Yeah that's what I was thinking too

Great thats comforting for me.. LOL
hope you find the issue though. |
Wow yeah, I'd check it out, if you are running QTP's it is living on borrowed time anyway. Do it before it costs you a transmission
|
Well found out that its mainly the fact that the qtps are worn a little funny and considering that there not balanced there causing a vibration
|
i would still swap out that arm

damn you leave that hard on stock tranny? or is it built

I'm with them, even if your torque arm is ok you should still have a quality aftermarket piece at your power level and 60' times.

Yeah def going to be getting one now. And as far as the tranny goes its been gone through. Not a crazy build but just the normal stuff.
