Anyone going to the races today? I'll be racing in the drags.

my sisters down there right now. I usually like torturing myself for the 4th...really only into the spec drags and they usually seem to be best then. still toying with entering them but this car is too clean lol plus i have drag radials now...dont think i can race with them...or can i?

Nitto 555r's? Those are legal. Anything that has 100 treadwear and above. Those are actually pretty competitive, that's what I have. NT-01 we had some controversy last year.. they state "For competition use only" on the side but they are 100 treadwear. We had to work with seekonk to allow them legal. Some events people get away with bringing BFG drag radials or MT ET streets which are illegal.. but everybody hates them, lol

Oh I won by the way, lol. Took me 4 years to get back to 1st place. Last year I couldn't even get top 3

I would try it if I were you. You will be safe just giving it a shot. Especially if you race me at first, you won't have any cars near you to worry about ;) If you get serious into it, expect a ding once in a great while especially if you get into a rivalry with a jerk. Whether or not I'd recommend anyone to get serious into the drags is questionable.. I'd maybe recommend getting an AWD car.. better chance of winning if its setup well and you'd have almost no competition (not even me)

good to know about them...honestly all someone would have to do with me is get aggressive and id back off..its for the fun, im not interested in swapping paint...id love to go against you in the first round, i know ill lose and i know you wont hit me lol

Awesome Win Bryan! and Mike you missed some of the Best racing. the spec drags had some AWESOME cars and even better races!!!! guys going all out almost smashin walls and shit. and dont forget the little Miata that ALMOST could.... haha

Congrats Bryan but I don't think you floored it till the very last race. Some nice cars but none were setup for the place like yours. My buddy Steve blew his trans and rear befor he even got to race lol

Yeah I talked to him. He mentioned he was friends with you. He's a real nice guy. He shot his drive shaft out the back of his car and wrecked his 9 inch rear when we were all pulling in.

I never floor it fast enough lol. Last race I always drive the fastest.

Yeah I back off sometimes depending on the situation but side by side or a little behind me then it's gas all the way.

Pretty much I've got the following:
400 rwhp engine with bolt on stuff, Slowhawk setup
17x11 wheels with Nitto 555r and NT01 all around. I have 315/35/17 all around but you probably only need a 275/40/17 in the front because I don't have understeer issues
strano springs and koni SA shocks
strano front bar and stock rear swaybar
double adjustable phb
stock LCAs and no relo brackets
stock rear end with 3.42 gears which is uncommon because most of those guys have at least 3.73 or higher.. 4.10 is common
manual which is also uncommon.. most people have auto with a stall.. it's easier to launch

I disciplined myself to not get too amped up because that messes up my launch.. also to make sure I drive real smooth and no sudden jerks of the steering wheel or slamming of the gas or brake or lifting too quick. I also got real lucky and won every coin toss.

good set up man worked real well for you ya I was there on bigs and skinnies no way I could have made even the first turn probably would have got the jump though just in time to go o shit wall LOL

dude I was there alone I didnt know any one was there ether was a good time but sucked being solo

You just never know where i will be but didn't know boomer was there probably why it was a great time :p

Yeah it was cool to see Lou there again. He had to race someone like Al or Chris in the 1st round which sucks.

I heard they are allowing trucks to race now? If that's true I will race my Trailblazer SS at the next race.

it was demo trucks. thats all i saw.
