Investing in tunercats and/or aldl cable is a good investment tho, Cant tell you how many times I used a data logger to find my drivability issues lol |

He's on a side street, so check your map first. Great guy who knows his stuff... http://smgmotoring.com/ <> |
EEEEEEE 306 cam on a 350? hes gunna make peak power at like 7500 rpm!!!!! Id say wait till Don slows down and bring him the tunercatsd and cable from either me and KLAB or Zfrie if he will let you borrow it.

I can let Don borrow my 95 cable to do your car anytime.

Ok thanks
I MIGHT sell it after I finish my tuning but idk... I'm a sucker for holding onto old junk...

nice good to know. hey where did u get your 8000k hids for ur camaro?
Well as Im sure you know, our headlights are sealed beam headlights. So when you want to replace the bulb, you have to buy a whole new housing with the bulb already in it. Check this out:
http://ltxtech.com/forums/showthread...torial-of-Hids All you have to do is carefully pry out the factory bulb, and then silicone the hid bulb in, but leave the little clear plastic ring that the bulb comes with on and use it like the guy did in the thread. Its exactly what I did, and Ive had no problems with it for 2 years, and theyre much brighter. As for the HID kit itself, I bought it from here: http://www.intensehid.com/bulbs.html...FQnd4AodmlJ97Q They make some great stuff, I have the same kit in my truck too, thats been going good for a year now too. If you want hids for just your low beams, get a kit for 9006 bulbs, your highs are 9005 i think. Id also recomend getting the slim ballasts as our engine bays are tight, but you could squeeze in the regular ballasts. But once you seal the HID bulb in the housing, its just a matter of hooking up the connections and your done. |
I did it to mine. Takes 20 mins and the results speak for themselves. Your just gonna bind the fuck out of people.
Yea I got hid in my truck lowbeams and fogs 8000k so I'm familiar with the hid portion just not the sealed beam conversion so ill read the tread and thanks. Ps my truck blinds the fuck out of people I'm used to that. Ha ha
I did the sealed beam HID conversion. Never again...

hid's belong in projectors. Projectors for the win!! :klab:
BlackBird Lighting has solutions including Projectors, but it's not cheap.
They just recently added the 93-97 Camaro Kits, and from what I've heard it's $1k for all four and ~$600 for lows only. If you really want to jam an HID Kit into the Sealed Beam Lenses, I'd recommend: DDMTuning.com I've had their 55W Kit in my older Legacy for going on 2 Years now with ZERO Issues. I would recommend the Battery Connection Upgrade though as HIDs do take some juice to startup and having that makes them turn on EVERY Time without issue. So $55 out the door for a 35W Kit with Slim Ballasts is totally worth it... |

problem with just tossing them in there is there Not actually as bright as they could be at all. alot of the hids beam is scattered far past any usable angle. hence the blinding people. you may think its funny. but its really just a huge waiste of money! invest in the correst lamp assembly and you will be amazed at the difference of the same HID bulb in the correct setup!
pizza is correct. while i loved my HIDs in my LT1 the beam pattern is nothing like how my retrofits in my WRX. Sure it put out more light than the stock headlights would but that doesnt take much. BLS make quality kits and i kinda wish that i hadnt sold the kit i had for the WS6.
you have retrofitted lights in the wrx?? nice. I retrofitted my saturn winter beater lights, and my step dads f250. I'd do a 4th gen if I had one :3 LT1 is more challenging...
Ummm you DO have a forth gen........... WUT!?!?!
wait how the hellll did we get on headlights in a tune thread! i JUST realized that!! 98Hoebag!?!?!?!?!? Tune????? what are you gunna do?
yeah wtf!?!?!?! I meant 98+ headlights!! DOH >.<
Yea what the fuck people back to my tuning options

Yea I did but everyone else ranted just wanted to know how u did it now I know now we move back to tuneing thanks.
Madz28. Done deal
When I researched mail order tunes I found MadZ28 seemed to have the most happy customers. Keep in mind it can be hit or miss though, they are tuning the car blind, if you have a bad MAF sensor/bad O2 sensors/vacuum leak/false knock etc etc etc they have no way of knowing that.
Best way would be get your own logging tuning software then send logs and tune back and forth till it is right.
Yeah that's not a bad idea. Talk to madz and see what he has to offer then go from there. If yah need tunercats I got ot for 94-95 pcms.
