SLP IROC-Z 03-18-2012 03:13 AM

Formula413 03-18-2012 06:45 AM

When I saw that pic on FB I thought it was photoshopped

smokinss 03-18-2012 12:47 PM

I know but there there a not a street legal tire if you read about it. There for radial class racing. Plus you can't even get your hands on them right now.

DAWG 03-18-2012 01:48 PM

I have legal ET street radials now and they slip and slide all over on wet roads,
I cant imagine how the new ones would work out lol.

Actually it IS street legal. Its just not "Recommended" for street use.

Otherwise there would be no use for the tire due to the rules in X275 , and other 275 drag radial classes requiring a DOT approved tire.

Just like a E.T. Street says not recommended for highway use" but it IS dot approved.

SLP IROC-Z 03-18-2012 02:17 PM

the 275 50 et street radials i have are great on the street, dont go anywhere near a wet road tho. i think my hoosier qtps hydroplaned less.

My84Z 03-18-2012 03:04 PM

If those lasted more then 1k miles i would probably throw them on the z

Ha yea exactly... If ou weren't gonna spend 6 grand a year on em haha.

Formula413 03-18-2012 04:02 PM

If I read the article right these are NOT D.O.T. tires, because the rules for X275 have changed and they removed the DOT requirement, which would mean it only has to be a radial construction tire with 275 section width.

LSX-Nation 03-18-2012 07:12 PM

Those plus my 4.10s would destroy the rear.

SLP IROC-Z 03-18-2012 07:55 PM

if you have a stock clutch youll destroy that first.

As I already stated before. Not a street tire!!!!

SLP IROC-Z 03-21-2012 02:47 AM

none of hoosiers DOT slicks or radials are recommended for street use, doesnt mean squat.

Formula413 03-21-2012 02:55 AM

True, but not recommended and not legal are two different things. QTPs are street legal, these tires aren't.

not when they say not for highway use on the sidewalls

Formula413 03-21-2012 03:04 AM

Maybe I have it wrong, I know QTPs say "not for highway use", but I believe they are still labeled DOT and thus street legal, is that not correct?

SLP IROC-Z 03-21-2012 03:11 AM

my point is theres no difference running this new MT pro radial on the street vs a quick time pro DOT or a hoosier DOT drag radial, the hoosiers may say DOT on them but they still say not for highway use on them as well. hoosier in no way will ever stand behind them as a street tire so your screwed as far as fighting a ticket. thats why it doesnt matter which of the three you drive on the street.

the DOT arguement is useless with the hoosiers.

this is why i choose the MT ET street radials, they are the most aggressive drag radial that has a DOT approval and MT advertises them as streetable, which means if it came down to fighting a ticket i know im covered.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 03-21-2012 12:44 PM

Joe. THERE IS NO DOT APPROVAL ON THESE TIRES!!! Hence your point is Mute. get pulled over with a Hoosier the cop sees the dot and your fine. run the mickey pros and he DOES NOT See a DOT Cuz there is not one then your shits getting towed. his question was Legallity NOT can you do it or not!

SLP IROC-Z 03-21-2012 01:57 PM

and theyre obviously going to over look the big not for highway use marking on the sidewall and let you drive off into the sunset right?

ILuvPizzaTimes10 03-21-2012 07:46 PM

And these are also not good for stret night. Just saying. "Must have a dot approved tire"

c4boom 03-25-2012 03:46 PM

and thats why ill stay with my QTP's car went wheels up on them so what the hell just have to get it consistant

smokinss 03-25-2012 05:02 PM

The key here is highway. If you get stopped on a regular street then you will most likely be ok. Highway is differnet than a street.

wednesday night there is no DOT rule, you can run on full slick

ILuvPizzaTimes10 03-25-2012 08:56 PM

Ohh so its only friday street nights??? Ahhhhh ok thats the only ones i care about any way. only ones i can go to.

SLP IROC-Z 03-26-2012 12:06 AM

they arent going to stop you from running those 275 mickey pro radials on street night, they have a tread pattern.

CamaroRacing12 03-26-2012 04:25 AM

looking at ur new best time joe it looks like we got to go heads up again this year
