well i learned something valuable today

guess who installed spark plugs without taking into account boost? yup u guessed it, did spark plugs and as soon as i started driving and got any boost started getting blow out....fml i thought doing spark plugs was bad enough then i had to do it allllllll over and gap them smaller, epic fail.

Could have been worse!

Haha dont worry, we did the same thing on my buddies turbo mustang! Live and learn, thats all.

fluffy 06-12-2012 11:39 PM

well we will see what else im going to learn right now trying to figure out if im having power loss from 5500 to 6000 rpms. havent brought it up that high in a while trying to feel if its been like that or its actually something else.... needless to say i bought my car with a lot of work needing to be done and i have been throwing parts at it left and right lol

fluffy 06-12-2012 11:40 PM

probably going to goto slowhawk for a tune as well.. i am not 100% sure that it has been done correctly

My84Z 06-12-2012 11:48 PM

What car and mods

fluffy 06-12-2012 11:50 PM

well fuel filter is clogged that may have something to do with it

car is a 99 SS, ls1 cam heads full exhaust vortech supercharged (boosted to 6psi), chromoly pushrods.

the last kid who owned it just beat on it and i knew what iw as getting into before i started this project.. just going a lot slower now since buisness has picked up for the summer

fluffy 06-12-2012 11:51 PM

hence the MWC 9" i have sitting in my garage right now... waiting to be put in since what i have now is barely functional lol

+1 Don does great work with ls motors. Heres a link to his site: http://www.slowhawkperformance.com/

ill be calling him soon, really havent run the car that much just a few runs a month to make sure the work i am doing on it is ok..... its still in project stages really more than driving stages at this point

My84Z 06-13-2012 02:27 PM

Fuel pressure will tell you if it was the filter or not. Or if it's even the pump or line

fluffy 06-14-2012 03:20 AM

yeah the filter was bad fuel pump im going to do anyway just because i rather not have to do it later when its inconvenient.... honestly im going from rear bumper forward on this car.... essentially replacing everything.....oh well in a couple years it will be really nice

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-15-2012 02:31 AM

do the floor mod for the fuel pump. running FI and needing High fuel demands you might be in there alot. good idea just to cut the "fuel pump door" haha Good Luck With It!!!!

smokinss 06-16-2012 07:20 PM

Door mod FTW!!!! Saved my ass a lot of trouble.

fluffy 06-24-2012 04:33 AM

car is at don's now.... multiple issues have arisen and honestly working 7 days a week isnt allowing much free time to work on the car without a severe amount of sleep depreivation...

My84Z 06-24-2012 05:03 AM

Good choice! Seen the car while i was up there picking up our vert. Nice car man.

fluffy 06-25-2012 02:22 AM
