NERR's 2013 "Green and White Tour"

I know there was a bit of interest on the forum for our trip last year, but it seemed to be longer than most people would have liked

This year is a different story. We are back to our regular length trip of just one weekend in October.

This year's route is taking us though Vermont and New Hampshire. A rough outline has been in place for about a month now and hotels are already booking (they sell out quick).

If you are really interested in going, your best way to get the latest information, is to go to our website at www.northeastrodrun.com and sign up on the forum. It's just to hard to give complete updates on every forum that we are members on.

You can also look us up on Facebook and there are many pictures of all our past trips on there

We are a bit partial to the older classics, but we never turn away newer American muscle either. Hope to see some new faces again on this year's run.

frankzlt1 01-22-2013 01:37 AM

I liked to go for this this year if things work out right.

Northeast Rod Run 01-22-2013 09:32 PM

Hope things work out for you then

This year has the potential to be our biggest car count to date. Last year there was more interest than ever, but lot's of people said they would have to wait until this year, because of last year's locations. We still get cars from as far away as Canada, western New York, Pennsylvania and halfway down the east coast every year, but it seems like the New England peeps don't like to travel to far. We actually had someone coming in from all the way out in Michigan last year. He had all his rooms reserved and his money sent in for all the extras, but 2 days before kickoff his wife broke her leg

If last year's interest is still there this year, from people across the internet, I would not be the least bit surprised if we hit 30+ cars for the entire trip.

DemonWithin99 01-22-2013 11:36 PM

I'd like to see a road map of the planned route, it may make it easier to plan for a day trip depending on where you'd all be. I know I won't have the whole weekend to play.

Northeast Rod Run 01-23-2013 12:07 AM

The best way to get the most detailed info, is to go over to www.northeastrodrun.com and check it out, because it is way to much work to try and post it on every website we deal with. Just by going over there, you can see where we are staying and an outline of the trip and that gives people a real good idea of what we do.

Lots of times we have people join us for just one leg of the trip. Our October trip is definitely the best one to go on, but if you only want to do a one night run, or just want to do a trial type of thing to see if you'd be interested in doing the full weekend, you could also check out our spring trip, which we are trying out for the first time in our short 5 year history

Just like with Hot Rod Power Tour, the 100% completed route won't be posted until we get much closer to the run. We used to post up early in the year, but then when there had to be changes made (additional stops, road construction, road closures, etc) everyone would end up with a different set of directions and that caused way to much confusion.

LSX-Nation 01-24-2013 01:24 AM

I'm joining the website and i wouldn't mind doing a short cruise ( half day) or something like that.

Northeast Rod Run 01-24-2013 02:07 AM

love to have you join us, but if you go to our site you'll see a "short cruise" to us consists of only one full day (approx 200 miles) and a single night.

We've had many people join us for just partial trips but the hard part about that is trying to meet up with us. Your best bet is to meet us at one of our morning kickoffs and go from there. If you try to hook up with us at one of our planned stops, that works too, but............ if someone breaks down, we could be at least an hour late, if not many hours (we never leave anyone that needs help), so you could be waiting for quite a while by yourself.

The lousy part about only doing a partial cruise is that you can end up missing some great stops along the way. Even worse though, is that you end up missing out on meeting up with and hanging around a lot of great people. After someone comes for the first time, they realize that it becomes more about the people, than the actual cars.

The ONLY post-trip complaint we have ever gotten is from people saying "what the hell was I thinking, not booking the entire trip?"

Funny story from last year:

A couple of guys were just coming out to our kickoff at the top of Mt Wachusett and then they were going home, because one of the guys had to go to work. Well........ almost 5 hours later they were sitting with us in Lake George, NY having a few beers. They also had to run out and do some shopping while they were there, because they didn't have a toothbrush or even clean underwear with them, because they didn't plan on going. They ended up staying the night and were a bit pissed in the morning that they couldn't go on the rest of the trip.

If you are looking at a short trip, your best bet is to look at our "Spring Fling" instead of our annual October trip. The spring trip was actually created for people that really wanted to go on our trips, but could only get away for one night.

I don't know how many people are going to join us in the spring, but as long as it's at least two people, we can have a hell of a party that night. LOL!!

c4boom 01-24-2013 05:15 AM

that would be fun ill let you know com early october

Northeast Rod Run 01-24-2013 05:27 AM

F.Y.I

The hotels usually sell out quick (I'm talking by the end of the summer sometimes) because it is foliage season when we go. As of last month, there were some hotels that were already sold out for that weekend or had a very limited availability and couldn't accomodate us.

We have people every year that lose out because they wait to late to book their rooms, or maybe they can get a room, but since they waited so long they lost out on the discounted rates because the hotels release our holds back into their inventory

Northeast Rod Run 01-29-2013 12:17 AM

we don't have a video for 2012's trip yet, but here is one from 2010, just so you can get an idea of what the trip is like

Northeast Rod Run 02-20-2013 01:14 AM

Hotel rooms for all 3 nights are now being booked. Just figured I'd give everyone a little heads up, because they do sell out quick

Here is the flyer for this year's trip

Northeast Rod Run 08-24-2013 06:09 PM

with only 6 weeks to go before kickoff, I'm getting word that most of our host hotels are sold out, so people are starting to book at other locations now.

The route is about 80% complete and I'll be seeing my guy about getting our usual windshield banners made in a couple of weeks

Northeast Rod Run 09-21-2013 03:14 AM

With only 2 weeks to go, we still don't know how many people are attending this year..... but the one thing we do know is that we have people coming in from MA, NH, NY, NJ, PA, MD, MI, CT, RI and Canada.

Any way you slice it, that's a great group!

Northeast Rod Run 09-27-2013 04:52 PM

Only 8 days before the trip officially kicks off.

I know there hasn't been much interest on here at all, but it is definitely one of the best multi-day rod runs in this part of the country.

If anyone wants to hook-up for just a one day drive with us, just check out the schedule and be there when we leave in the morning

Northeast Rod Run 10-16-2013 03:49 PM

Here's a few pics from this year's trip to get things started. I'll post up more over the coming weeks

Nice pics TJ.

This year has been kind of a disaster with the new house, old house, moving, work, etc.

I'm hoping that next year or the year after, I'll be in.

I just figured out you brought your 69 from the hood in your first picture in your previous post and one of your old posts:

Yup, I brought it this year. I try to switch the cars up every year. It was a 750 mile trip for me and I averaged right around 9.5MPG for the trip

What do you switch to? Not a Furd....please! lol.

My biggest concern is always the wife and kid. If Alex is in school during the trip, there is no practical way to take him out. I'll just have to see how it goes.

Nice!!! Awesome pics.

Is the panorama pic from Mt Washington?

We're almost always within 4 hour interstate drive trip of Boston (although we never use interstates), for at least one leg. If you were desperate, all you would really need is gas money for the day, PLUS the Monte would look good cruising in the group.

NEVER a Ford. LOL!

Plenty of wives join the run. Probably 75% of the attendees are couples and kids have come many times too. The trips are always over a weekend, so you can always do at least two days of cruising and one night

Anyway.... without further ado, here is it!!!
