As some of you know, I go on a 2-3 day cruise every October and we've been doing it for 7 years now. It consists of all types American Muscle Cars. Absolutely no rice burners allowed, although we have had a Lotus join us once (exotics are ok )

Nice video TJ. I'd like to get in on this for one or two nights. Probably with my son who will be 12 in October.

That would be awesome. We've had a few people take their kids on past runs, but the funny thing is that most of the time they would bring their daughters. The kids seem to really love it, if you give them "camera duty" while you're driving. It really makes them feel involved

Plus is you're bringing that '69, we can NEVER get enough classics!

We might have one other '68 joining us this year. It's got an old school pro-street look to it and it was just in the WAAF booth at the International auto show in Boston.

I'm going to try to talk my wife into going too, but when I mention anything that has to do with cars she starts looking at me cross-eyed.

We always need more 1st gens. I'll probably bring my '69

Believe it or not, many of the guys also attend the HRPT by themselves, because the wives hate that type of stuff, but this trip is actually looked forward to by the wives. This is the ONLY car event that a lot of the women will attend all year. We've even had some women take their own cars.

This isn't just a big corporate backed road trip cruising up a highway somewhere, or a drag race from stop to stop by a bunch of young kids, who own their first fast car and feel they have something to prove.

This is a very laidback event driving down different scenic byways, with plenty of cool stops planned along the way and no rush to get to them. The average age is probably around 40 and most of the people have multiple toys to chose from.

The biggest compliment I hear from the new people each year, is how the entire group is so welcoming to everyone.

The only important advice I can really give, is that if you're serious about attending, don't wait to long to book your rooms. To many people lose out every year because they wait until the last minute and the rooms are all gone

Tell your wife that if she doesn't like it, she can have a money back guarantee (just don't tell her that it was free to start with).

I think that my biggest selling point is the leaves. lol. She loves all the colors of leaf-peeping season and that should be the #1 selling point.

I'm about 98% sure that at least 2 of us will be in.

I'm hoping a few other nef-ba folks might join in even if it's only for 1 night.

The leaves are always a big draw. That is one of the biggest reasons we always go during the first weekend of October, instead of Columbus Day weekend.

By going on the weekend we do, we are able to avoid most of the other "peepers" that wait until the holiday weekend.

I notice that a lot of cruises on this forum get cancelled if it rains, but ours goes off no matter what the weather brings. After a full year of planning and people always scheduling their vacation time around this trip, a little rain doesn't stop them. We've had some of our best trips with "less than ideal" weather.

This is definitely shaping up to be our largest attended trip to date

Let's try to get some NEFB guys this year, it always sounds like a great time but the last few years I was too busy I'm going to look into it more this year.

That sounds good. I think Demon said he might be going but I'm not sure.

Just remember guys..... It's an all American muscle car car thing, so even if you know guys with an import that want to attend, they'll have to find their own import event.

We will make exceptions for Exotics though

That pisses some people off, but if they get pissed off over something like that, we really don't want that type of person to join us anyway.

We've been very careful on how we've promoted this over our first 7 years, so we wouldn't end up with any problems and so far we've been very successful at our goal, so we don't want to ruin it now. There are some forums that always have "minor" incidents every time they put something together, so I've purposely stayed away from those forums. There is way to much effort put into this, to let one person blow it all for everyone.

We always say "We haven't had one asshole yet, so don't be the first one". The first time we have the least bit of trouble, it will be the last time, because we will cancel the trip right there and then. Everyone that comes on this run would have no problem calling someone out and then leaving them behind. This is more of a family friendly type of event (with some great night time parking lot parties), then a guys only type of thing.

Now, with all that B.S. stated and out of the way......................

I hope we finally get to meet some of you in October, so you can see what we're all about!!!

I'm definitely going to have to see how it goes and I might not be able to make it this year because between work, house renovations, and family life, I don't get too much free time.

Also, if the Kancamagus cruise is on this year, I don't want to miss it. I didn't have a chance to go last year, and if it's on.....I'm going.

I also get very little free time and that's why we originally designed this as just a weekend trip. I don't get much time off in work, so it's doable when I only have to burn one or two vacation days for the entire trip.

Lots of other people like it because they also don't need much time off, plus if they have kids/pets it's much easier for them to find a babysitter/pet sitter for one or two nights over a weekend, than during the week.

Even if you can't make the entire trip, we always have people that join us only one or two days. We have cruised many routes over the years that actually blow the Kanc away (mostly in NY). There are one or two this year that might even come close to the Kanc, plus the Kanc still might be in the cards too :D It's just to soon to tell

Good luck with everything though, it sounds like you have a full plate there

Just got word yesterday, that we have more people travelling quite a bit east to join us this year. We definitely have a late model Challenger (2nd time) and now an early 70's convertible Cutlass car coming out from Michigan.

Keeps looking better and better!

Just got word from someone who just this morning, booked their rooms for NERR 2014 and they told me that already, there are only a handful of rooms left.

IF YOU PLAN ON JOINING US IN OCTOBER, DO NOT WAIT TO BOOK YOUR ROOMS!!!!!

That is peak season for the area and rooms fill fast. If you book now, you are guaranteed to be with the group. If you wait, you will have to find your own lodging and you can end up spending almost $80.00 more per night... If you can even find a room

This trip goes off rain or shine. A little bit of foul weather doesn't stop us from having a good time :beer:

This will be our 7th multi-day cruise and 8th run overall. We've probably had at least one day of bad weather on almost 50% of the trips.
