It's home

Just getting anxious. Finally touched my baby for the first time in about a year and a half. Loaded it up and brought it home from my parents. Hopefully start tearing into the rebirth in the next few months.
That's all, no real news, just excited and bored so thought I'd post:

I've always loved that car! You know we could put a SBC in it...

Any pics of the motor carnage?

Fuck no. No old school small block in my classic Pontiac lol. It's actually taken me lots of long hard soul searching to decide to switch to ls power. The benefits are just too hard to ignore.

No pics but the whole top end of the motor is off. Next time I'm downstairs I'll pop the hood and snap a couple if I think of it.
Snapped two rods, blew out both sides of the oil pan, and windowed the block really good. The pan was so bowed out I couldn't squeeze the starter out past the headers anymore lol.

Yeah I was there when the motor quit. Poor thing lol

Cant wait to see it finished though..

Yes :)

You should see inside the wheelwells. There's 15 years of summernationals rubber in them. Never bothered to clean it out. It's easily over an inch thick in some places lol.

I don't baby anything I own.

After double checking the pic the line from the quarter window to the wheelwell is dirt from sitting, but yes, everything else is rubber lol.

Some sort of ls motor. Was originally going with a 6.0 but after pricing all the vette bits to make one go into the vette chassis this car is getting I may just buy another vette that got obliterated just for the motor and a few other bits I need.
Car is getting a complete restoration. Gutting the whole thing and starting fresh. Needs a lot, but I've owned the car for 17 years and it deserves it. We've been through a lot together :)
