Welding in SFCs
 

Though I started a thread on this on here, but I guess not. Just wondering if anyone on here could weld in my UMI SFCs or knows a good place. I got a couple quotes that were 90 to about 180 bucks. 180 seems like allot, so if anyone can do it, or knows a good place not too far from western mass let me know. thanks!

Yeah man id call Don. guys Great to deal with!! and to be honest 180 isnt too bad. to do it right you need to pull out pretty much your whole interior minus the dash.

Really, for subframe connectors?

any time you need to weld anything on or near your floor i would NOT leave my carpet in the car. and to pull the carpet up seats, console, and sail panels need come out. Thats just the way ive done them. id rather not have a car fire for an extra couple hours work.

No offense but there is def no need to pull out the interior for subframe connectors. Unless there custom ones that go through the floor or something like that. But Don did my wifes Z28 in no time and my buddie and I did my SS at his house on his lift in a couple hours. Where they weld up on these cars you shouldnt have to worry about burnning up the rockers or anything like that.

Are we talking 2 point or 3 point? The 3 point maybe I could see some chance of heat damage.

dude $90-180 is better than the $600 quote I got from some tool around here. I'd say go see Don or find a buddy who knows his shit.

i dunno man i dont like welding anything near a floor with the carpet in. maybe im just over paraniod. but wen i do a customers car i take the best car of it i can. ive seen cars burn down just because the cat got hot enough to catch the carpet. thats just me.
