Idle/Driving issue
Well as I did my plugs and wires and exhaust a new issue came about and made my car run like ass again.
Under normal driving conditions it drives fine but if you go to accelerate its feels like its choking and kind of stutters as it rises in rpms but if you keep in it as its stuttering it gets worse and backfires like a mofo. It gives a code for tps reading low and sometimes it reads o2 circuit open. I think they are related to each other in some way. Also it has a hard time idling after first starting. It drops low in rpms and backfires a lot when you give it a little gas to keep rpms up. Once this is over and you put it in drive and get off the brake enough to move forward it kind of surges. I'm not a mechanic I'm just going out on a limb here so help would be great |
With the scanner/tool you have, are you able to view voltages, and positions?

If u can get it to autozone have then scan it but my guess is tps is shit or needs to be cleaned

only way to read the tps voltage is to back probe the connector with it still plugged into the sensor. then get a voltage meter and read the voltage. if its low, Below ~.5 with the throttle body closed, open the throttle body slightly if no change then read the voltage from the ecm. should be ~5 volts and No lower then 4.8.
