Honestly I bet any third gen electric vss would work as long as the ecu is getting some sort of signal you can probably compensate for it in the tune. As long as on will thread into your th400. Would one for a 4l80 fit?
And yeah, mike definitely knows his stuff. He most likely already has a base tune on file that'll work with whatever set up you wind up with. That would definitely save you some headache there.
And please for the love of god don't carb it. Why waste a good injected motor?
If you're gonna do that just sell it, buy an old school small block, and be done with it
