Last week i was down in Oklahoma City for training. On saturday as a group we all visited the OKC bombing Memorial/Museum. Talk about a eerie feeling walking around. Seeing all the chairs and knowing that each one was for a person that lost their life that day. Walking threw the exhibits and seeing parts of the Ryder truck that was used in the bombing, peoples belongings and the destruction it caused was just well.... i cant describe it. Listening to the only audio recording of the explosion gave me goose bumps know that instant in time death was upon 168 people that day. They had a room there with pictures of the people who lost their lives that day. It wasnt the adult pictures that got to me but the infants that were at the day care that hit me. Knowing that they didnt have a chance at surviving. The training i did while i was down there was how to search and extract victims/bodies from horrific days like this. Puts a whole new out look on the week of training that we all received. It wasnt the thinking of "fuck i dont wanna do that". Its more "i have to get that person to their loved ones".
