I did the math, probably about $1,200-$1,300. It would have been nice to have more power up in the high elevations, but honestly range would have been an issue. The Formula is good for maybe 250-280 miles to a tank, the Civic is easily twice that. And it can be a LONG way between gas stations. If you've ever driven back roads in the southwest you know what I mean. Also if you can't make it into and out of Death Valley in one tank, and most cars probably can't, gas in the valley runs about $6/gallon. Then there's the likely possibility of encountering snow, dirt roads etc etc. If, or more likely when, I do this again I might plan a different route and bring the F Bucket.
