Exactly. They're trying to cut out all the bullshit that's happened to previous shows when Bob was running them and f-cked it up. They've dropped the burnouts, swimsuit/model contest, helicopter rides, and the downtown site as well. They are working on making it a family orientated show again.
You can submit an entry for anything newer, but has to be approved by the guys running the show. MUST have a photo of the car and a list of mods done to it for approval. This is what they're doing to cut out all the shitboxes that would enter the show just to get in and burn off some tires. That part of the show kind of pissed me off, nothing like seeing a beautifully done piece of american muscle next to this shitbox some tool just drove in off the street just because he wanted to do a smoke show with it.
I honestly think their hearts and heads are in the right place, but like everybody else has said, you're losing out on 2 and a half decades of cars! This is their inaugural show so I'm sure that they will be getting a lot of feedback for the upcoming years, provided it goes beyond this one.
