Don was saying that the 96mm Typhoon intake (LS1/2) is garbage and I'm wondering why.... Not calling anyone out, I've just read a LOT of mixed reviews about this.
I'm not finding much at all as far as dyno comparison on Tech about it. Just very little feedback. People buy it and then you never really hear back about it.

IIRC it's made by professional products? CHEAP CHINA JUNK
All it is, is a casting that was ripped off from someone else and made overseas in china.. JUNK

^ Yeah, it's Professional Products.
Some of the fancy Big screen TV's are made in China............ Not much is made in the US anymore. People forget all too quick that most of our engines are/were made in Mexico and assembled in Canada. Lowest bidder.. If the design of the intake works, what's so junk about it?? Sorry, but I don't see name calling as a solid/valid source for your argument. AHHA!! Found this on LS2GTO... Dated 4-9-08 Quote:

the PPi is made for an FI setup. they are Way too big for an NA setup in most cases and stall the air in the common plenum. there over all design with the sharp turns and such is alsio part of its down fall.
if it were me id get a Fast LSX-R and call it a day. tryd true and worth every penny.

There is no back/back tests with them because they suck. Most people get it because it's pretty.

^ was just gonna get the satin piece. The only really dyno's I've seen out of it are from the 85mm, and that dude had a weird setup with other problems. I think the FAST looks better, IMO.
I don't understand how people say it's too big when the 102 seems to take up much more space.

I'd run the LS6 over the Typhoon.
Also,I'm beggining to think FAST 102's suck ass too. Bring back the 92's. |

^ I remember you having tuning issues with the 102 when you first got your hands on it. If you find a 92 before I do, SAVE IT! I'll be getting one when my W2 comes in and I get some money back.
I want a bigger intake and personally I think it was a HUGE mistake for FAST to discontinue the 92. They can be hogged to around 94, or 96 right? That is a perfect size for the LS1/6's. Leave the 102's for the 2,3 and 7. I still think a 4" mouth is too big for that engine. A 4" TB to me is a darn on/off switch. Don: If I WERE to get my hands on a 102, what size MAF should I run? I'm asking from a tuning stand point. I've been reading a lot about air velocity and whatnot with different size MAFs. Was thinking the 85 would be a bottle neck when used with a 102 TB, but it should me more responsive to air flow changes, right? Compared to a 100mm card MAF that is.

It looks cool:
![]() But if there was plastic shroud around it it would look like a 2011 5.0 intake so fail:

^ If you put that shroud around an LS1/2/4/6/7 intake it would look similar too.
Ford and GM may have had the plastic intakes out at the same time, but we just perfected it right out of the gate.. ![]() The 5.0 intake doesn't look much like ours.
