I'm going to hopefully install my ported TB this weekend.
Just needed to know...do I need to buy a gasket, or is the original one reuseable? I mean, I assume there's a gasket on there...I really haven't even checked yet. I just want to have everything I need before I tear it apart. Thanks! |

Re-useable, like most LS1 gaskets

Just clean it with soap and water before you install it, maybe even put silicone on it

Yeah, I took it apart today, the gasket was in great shape. I just wiped it down along with the sealing surfaces and it was great.
I definitely noticed a difference with the ported TB. I dont know if it makes more power, or will be faster at the track, but throttle response is most definitely improved, the car feels quicker off the line and the revs seem to build quicker now. |
