Default To sell ye old Z, or savor the flavor

...that is the question. Some of you know already I have a 78 Z sitting in my backyard I had since I was 12. The other day I went out back to stuff my stock 95 spoiler in it trying to free up some space in my shed and everytime I look at it I'm like dam its doing NO GOOD sitting there. So I'm stuck with the tough choice to drag it out of its grave rip it apart and restore it or part it out/sell it for $$$ for the 95. Its a tough call, what you guys opinion on the situation? Heres some details on the car.

Good-ish:
Porno red interior in good shape, have a brand new carpet in box
Power windows!
dark maroon red paint still somehow in good shape
355 sbc, nothing special was rebuilt in the 90's and bored 30 over all I know. It MAY be a 4 bolt according to my neighbor that sold it to me..
4 speed Borg Warner standard
non posi 10 bolt
4 stock aluminum wheels in good shape
New header back full dual exhaust system 2" out the back
put new body mounts in for the subframe

BAD:
rotten to hell
needs floor pans on both sides, gas tank is falling out, clean size 9 shoe hole through drivers floor, rotten rockers, step dad drove the fucking riding mower into the quarter and dented it not too bad, lower quarters and front fenders rotten would need patch.

So in theory, a good majority of the car is there to get it going, but its in rough shape. Mostly lots of welding in new metal but damn I don't know if I'm up to it anymore. This fresh 95 Z is spoiling me...

To be honest, i dont think it would be worth putting all that fab work into a 1978 z28. If it were a first gen or a mopar, Id say do it. But I dont think theres alot of value to late second gens. If it were an earlier year like 73 id say yeah. I feel like youd lose money big time in the end.

I like the criticism. But the value isn't much what I care for. Just to be ripping around in that car. But then It would be heavier and not handle any where near as good as 4th gen

Its sounds to me its goin to need a lot of work to make it to were it should be for a good show and driver. Its depends on what time you have and money to work on it otherwise its just going to rot so faraway that it won't be worth anything but parts. I always hated it get rid of any of my cars in the past but I also hated seeing it sit there when I didn't have the money to do anything with it so I sold the car to what I though was a person that was going to fix it up and take care of it.

they way i look at it the late 2nd gens are becoming a car that people are looking for especially a 4 speed car these cars you can get all kinds of suspension products to make them handle better. i know i miss my 79 i had and that was a z28 4 speed car. i ended up selling it because it needed some work and i didnt have the money to do it right, plus it was sitting around outside and starting to get rough so i sold it to someone that restored it.
