This shit will forever go on! It's just like when the L98's came out in the 80's, they were better than the crossfire's. Then the LT1's came out and they were better than the L98's. It's neverending and it is funny how some people get so worked up over it. I thought my 408 was decent(good low end torque, decent power). That engine had it's problems and I wanted to get rid of it. I was going to go the LT1 route but I personally didn't care for the optispark setup. That's just my opinion. I went with the LS6 because of the good power, reliability, economy and easy to hop up. I love my Ls but their are many people who love their L98's, LT1's and even their older carbed motors. To each their own is what it comes down too!
