Its an ati treemaster. It was specd for 342s so these 308s are really beating the hell out of everything

First I've ever heard that. Gears aren't the problem at all. Probably converter efficiency. The tranny will cook in this weather, no doubt. Thats why you see all the turbo cars with fans on the tranny's after each pass.

Ya I called ati and honestly they were a bunch of assholes. I spent 925 for the converter for them to tell me "I should of had it specd for 308s we cant do anything about it" transmission specalties built the th400 and when i talked to the builder he said ati hates them so I got caught in a pissing contest. I then called PTC and he was great even offered to buy my ati back if I choose to go with a new one. You dont think going to 342s will help it 60 better? I could go with a converter it would be about the same price I've never ddone a gear swap but a local shop did the 3.08s and charged 625 (rip off i know)

Ati is behind on turbo converters.
There is a lot of stuff that affects launch. I launch at 9lbs and do 1.2 60's with a 3.00 gears and 28" tire. I 60' the same as the fords running 4.10 gears and a lot more boost.

I have heard that lately about ATI too
That's crazy 9psi 1.2 wow that's amazing! I launched at 7 seems like the spot where I hook but only cut 1.54 my best with a 27" tire. It's either I try converter or gears maybe even both but I do like the 308s for driveability

PTC is a great choice. Have you looked into FTI. Greg hit it right on my th350 ss. Most of the big boosted guys are using him down here. Including a local guys 7sec twin turbo formula.

That car moves!
I have talked with greg before also. I am really big with customer service and Tim at PTC was very helpful. Also offered to buy my ATI for 500 bucks towards a new converter i really liked that so I think i'll go that route. I'm having some weird issues or maybe thats just the way this trans is. But its getting too damn hot. The converter burnt the paint off it. Tested all the lines getting great flow. My cooler isnt getting hot but the converter is so everyone is saying its gotta be something with that (besides ATI) The trans is a Transmission Specialties Th400 Pro Mod Sprag I just want everything fixed thats all and its irritating the hell out of me.

PTC is the leader of turbo converters. Everyone else is trying to copy them.

Right now I run the Yank PY3400. It is a great converter but is showing more slip when I get up to the 1k hp mark.

PTC will be doing one soon for me but it's a big $$ converter to handle a lot of power.

Your temp will go through the roof at the track. Mine starts at 120-130. End of the run on the return road - 220-240. That's normal. You can not hot lap the car.

On the street I cruise at 140-160 temp.

Awesome glad to hear that from you also because they got my vote soon as i talked with him he was on speakerphone with me having me tell him how much fluid my trans was pumping great guys there.
So this will give you a good laugh just checked my converter slip. My first pass when i was running 14psi (old cast wheel) had 6% slip
This last pass at 144 had 15.7%!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like i know who to call tomorrow.

Wow starts 120-130 then ends up 240 ok well i guess mine is about the same thats nuts. Do you get a little splash of fluid out the vent?
You run a fan under the car between passes or just let it sit there for a bit
