It can't get out of it's own way at high elevations LOL. Other than that it ran fine. I took a sample of the oil when I changed it yesterday and sent it out for analysis. Averaged right around 50 mpg for the whole trip. Had to claybar the front end to get all the bugs off, next time I'm putting a bra on it.
For anyone who has never been to high elevations the loss of power is stunning. The car loses about 10% of it's power for every ~3,000 feet of elevation. Watching engine load on the scangauge in my car, if I were to put the pedal to the floor at 10,000ft it would read 70, at sea level it's 98-99. If I was driving the Formula it would have been like having a 3.8. Honestly the thin air was more apparent in the car than out of it. I hiked up a steep hill at Crater Lake in Oregon at about 7,000 feet and didn't really have much trouble, I was breathing a little heavier but not that bad. |

Wow Alex that was an awesome vacation. Glad to you made it back safe. If I ever do anything like that it will be a long time before this ever happens.
