Went to the track again wednesday night, this time with the ls3 injectors installed, new front calipers, rev limiter bumped to 7000 & a better tune. probably could lean it out a little more, running 12.5 to 12.7 @ wot but its "safe". Since fixing the front brakes the car has felt like it rolls much easier, cant believe i didnt notice this before. the air was better than last time 173' down to 0' opposed to 1045' to 918' on sept 4th. Traction was an issue, tires could be beat from all the street driving.

Very happy with these results, gained over 2mph from last time, 2.6mph on that last pass! Still above sea level to, need more seat time and the "air" to come.
On the agenda:
Finish wiring the 2 step
Install a shift light
Regear to 4.57s & full spool (-10lbs of rotating mass)
Shim slave cylinder
Dyno time

4.57s Ordered!

4.30s arent enough for it, car does 48mph in first gear and goes through the traps at 6200 in 4th. it will do 120mph @ 7k in 4th with the 4.57s, plenty of top end. The car should hook better with the 4.57s, less wheel speed and will be able to launch at a lower rpm.

wtf, I wonder what an a4 would top out at with them gears lol
And thats crazy your first is that long, even with my 2.73s I would only get 45 our of it at 6k lol just noticed you 7k rev, explains more lol
them gears...

if i had an automatic the 4.30s would be perfect or maybe a hair to much.
with 4% converter slip 4.57s and a 26.5" tire would go 116mph @ 7k.
4%, 4.30 & 26.5 = 123mph @ 7k.
i wouldnt be pushing it to that kind of RPM if it werent for the MN6 T56 close ratio gearing. first gear is 2.66:1 which is long, the car needs to be over geared in order to move out of the hole. its a compromise. over rev a few hundred rpm on the big end but have the right amount of torque in first, second & third gear.
it does 98mph in 3rd right now, im in high gear for less than half track when i should be in before the 1/8th
I will have roughly 4600ft lbs of torque at the rear axles with 4.57s in first gear as opposed to roughly 4300ft lbs with the 4.30s. More acceleration in 1st gear. Also less speed so less wheel spin. I bet i dont need as many rpm on the launch either.

You actually have to set the suspension/tire better so you can launch at 6000rpm and get a good 20' of wheel spin while loading the tire enough to excellerate.
use to do this on a Vette. If it hooked= 1.65 60'. Spin out of the hole= 1.42's.

The rear suspension is stock right now and it still has a hard time with the 4.30s. I feel more traction is going to compound the issue.
I agree its about getting the right amount of wheel spin. Right now i need so much wheel spin to keep the revs up my 60s suffer.
Next year I hope to do more with the rear suspension, starting with a drag bar. There is definitly alot more left in this car
