Well, i got the lightweight flywheel and clutch installed, and all i have to say is....WOW what a huge fucking difference, the car feels 10% faster its incredible, and it still engages nice and smooth, the flywheel was a spec 1.1 12lb. flywheel and the clutch was a LuK Pro Gold, however when i took the old clutch down it was the same exact pressure plate as the new one i put in, i had to change the throwout bearing aswell, the friction disk was also a LuK but it wasnt a Pro Gold, but it feels phenominal now, i also put in a ported MAF, after i installed that a felt a bit of a difference too, not crazy, but still felt it, but after the clutch, my god it was such a huge difference, i can start off from 2nd gear now, the speedometer goes up so rapidly compared to how it was before aswell, im tellin ya, if u got a lightweight flywheel.....and u havent installed it....you definately should, i thought it was gonna be like riding in a rodeo, but it feels smoother than the stock clutch did when it engages, its very nice

Nice
Piece of advise though - put the stock MAF back on.I never see anything good from ported MAF's except screwed fuel curves/too high of timing and no hp gains. |

Yeah I'd pull the ported MAF off and sell it, you won't need a new MAF until you get well into changing internals or forced induction and if you do get one get the 5 wire screened MAF off the LS6/Truck. You can actually damage an engine with a ported MAF if the car isn't tuned for it, like Don said it jacks up all your fuel tables which can lead to detonation, and you don't want to be there. I just hope the light flywheel doesn't cause you too much aggravation in every day driving.

I'm still running my McLeod Single with the steel FW. That bastard was HEAVY even putting it in.. I forgot WHY exactly I went with the steel over the alum. Something to do with a street car or something.. I don't remember. Centerforce is supposed to have a LMC or something out that I've read about being a good difference. I didn't realize that the Alum clutches free'd up that much power.
I think I'll see what McLeod has when this one wears out.. The rate this clutch is going, it'll take 10 years.. lol

Aluminum frees up alot of power and makes it rev happy, but the cost is really fast choppy engagement because there is no inertia from the extra weight of the steel one. For a true street car I would go with the steel every time, especially if you are pushing moderate power or above. With a more stock car you won't notice the difference as much but get a big or choppy cam in there and life begins to suck. You do gain some HP but what makes it feel/sound so much better is how much faster it will rev
