I haven'rt ever done it but I've done a window motor and if I remember correctly the are some fasteners you can unscrew that hold the glass on the end of each arm of the actuator. I'm not sure tho it was a while ago

drill the rivets that hold the window to the regulator. then you have to have the regulator in the Full down position and then pull out the front triangle/window track. tip the window forward. and pull out at and angle towards the rear of the car.

the wondow motors are cake...just drill 2 holes in the door and 3-4 rivits that attch the motor to the regulator...just blown away because i took the motor out already so the window/regulator goes up and down...the motor was toast already so i kinda had to take it out. i just cant get the front wheel on the window out of the regulator...im guessing i have to drill the rivits for the reg and removed the reg that way? even if i drill the bracket that attaches to the window off i still have to get the entire new window in...stupid old style regulators...wish it was the cable style!!!

Just be careful. I worked on my window a few years back. The window is spring wound and will go flying if you drill out the regulator. I found this out and luckily didn't lose my hand when I remounted the regulator to a new bracket I created. The regulator rivets had dug through the fiberglass door panel and messed it all up.
If anything bad ever happens to my door again, I am just going to find a new door, lol. I HATED working on that window and door panel. |
