I was pretty psyched about it at first. In the right lighting and right after its been waxed it looks pretty good. But once the wax wears off it looks kinda shitty the more I look at it. Its unevenly sanded so its sort of blotchy. If you look at it in the right amount of sunlight at the right distance it looks perfect. If you get too close you can see all the scratches and blotches. It especially looks shitty at night under lights. If I go over it with some 3000 in the spots that need it and do a good buffing job I think i can make it look a lot better. I as honestly rushing after being half way done because i just wanted to finish. SO half the car looks better than the other half haha. I could just be anal but i dunno...I get compliments on it from people that see it up close but im a perfectionist. Even with all of my drawings as an artist growing up, i always thought i could do better. People would look at my artwork and even say its AMAZING but id be like meh its alright. But its getting close to winter so its gonna have to wait anyway. For now I dont care what it looks like. Depending on what I get back for taxes I may just bring it in and get a $400 maaco paint job for it. I still have to pay some people back and get a transmission so well see.

Edit: I stared at my car this morning and as i looked at it i thought for a sec, and went over and dragged my finger across the body. Theres a gross film on it from the wax ive been using which i think might be causing it to look all blotchy and gross. Im gonna give it a good scrubbing to take the film off and see how it looks. Ive actually havnt given it a proper cleanining since i sanded it etc. i just spray it with water then wax and ive waxed it avout once a week. So i bet it has a build up of it on it making it appear the way it does. Well see how it looks after a proper bath. I know better than that too. I always do clean it really good before waxing but i guess lately ive been a bit lazy. Theres probably nastiness and dirt etc. mixed in with the wax and water by itself is definitely not gonna take the old wax off especially just spraying it.

Okay...real random but I decided to go white. I think this might be the last time. I think it turned out to be a good 2 coats over the whole car and i used about 10 cans. Still need to touch up some areas and fix a little overspray. It wasnt easy doing white on black. I had to be very careful of overspray but i managed to do okay. I actually went very lazy on covering stuff. Its actually very easy to get overspray off windows etc. all you need is a mr. clean magic eraser sponge and it comes right off. Gonna do the top black and the handles black. possibly that rear panel with the letters as well and definitely doing my rims flat black:

For the love of god stop spray bombing that thing. No matter what it will still be a spray can paint job.

If you're really determined to rattle can your car I would suggest going to a local auto body supply place and see if you can get proper auto paint in factory colors in a spray can, along with some clear coat. Joe (SLP IROC-Z) did his engine bay that way and it looked great. You might be doing a really good job with what you are working with but nothing screams trailer park like going to the hardware once a week and changing the color of your car. Just my $.02

What Alex said, If your bent on a cheap DIY paint job without a compressor and a nice gun, you can get pre mixed factory colors in cans that lay down pretty nice, Joes bay came out nice, I know a buddy who painted a whole fender with that stuff and you can barely tell the difference over the factory dodge paint.

I get tons of compliments even more than with the original factory paint job. Paint is paint. "Auto paint" seems like bull to me. Ive used a lot of paint and it all reacts the same. Seems like a way to sell the same paint for more expensive. The only "problem" with my paint job is it lacks a clear coat so it wont last as long as a "proper" paint job. Spray paint is the same freakin thing as shooting from a spray gun except the spray area is much smaller and its already mixed in a can. If you do it correctly it comes out the same...i took my time and i think it came out good. This will probably be the last time i spray it tho. i really like the white.

And to top it off, i dont have a lot of money. I ended up only spending maybe $50 on the whole paint job...i could spray my car 10 more times and itd still be cheaper than getting it professionaly done.
