If on a car I call call them what I am reffering to. I would say hey look at my rim its got scratches all over it. Or look at my tire. Its almost bald. I wouldnt say look at my wheels they have a problem.

A rim and Tire make up a wheel. Sure you can say wheel sure but most people think that means both the tire and rim.

To be specific and to not get people mislead. Rim and or Tire are what should be said.

"Im selling my 94 Z28 wheels"
"Im selling my 94 Z28 Rims"
"Im selling my 94 Z28 Tires"

Out of the three what one sounds like I am selling a complete package. Then 2nd and last.

If you walk into a tire/rim store and say I need wheels for my 94Z28. They will probably start looking for tire and rim packages for you. Not just rims.
