Default Ratchet shifter

I'm planning on putting a ratchet shifter in my car, and I know its going to be a custom fit. I just wanted to get any opinions/ tips if any of you have installed one or just seen one that fit well. I've never put one in any car before so anything will probably be useful, thanks.
