Default How to test injectors.....

So got the motor in on the lq4 anyone know how to test to see if the injectors are firing? using stock fuel set up just to get this motor running and switching everything out. little detail about it is theres spark and fuel pressure up to the fuel rails.......if you spray starting fluid in it will try to fire up but just wont stay running. Any ideas? Everything is hooked up got a new oil pressure sensor coolant sensor and everything but the evap canister purge valve is hooked up.

I believe the proper way is to use a test light. I know you can't just put 12V to them to see if they click because they are not designed for continuous power and can be damaged. Or you could take the rails and injectors off, put the whole thing in a pan and crank the engine.

Noid light will tell you if its firing. have you tryed Long cranking it? letting it crank for a while? sometimes if the cam sensor is bad they will crank for a long time before starting. and if started on ether will not stay running. also do you still have vats? you can also make sure you have 12v's at the sensor connector. if i remember right it will be the pink wires on each injector connector.

Like Pizza said, a noid light will tell you if you're getting the signal up to the injectors. That's half the battle. The evap wouldn't keep the car from running, just trigger a ses code. Are you 100% certain that the car is getting spark?
