where did you find nittos 555's in stock?

The only place I found was discount tire direct.

Wife needs 2 for her Z28. one has a broken belt. (275/40/17)

they are the only place that might still have them. they don't return email's in a timely manner, (unless it's lost in my spam folder). that's where I was/am going to get them if they answer my call tomorrow. then I'll just sit on them until I find a place to get them mounted. this is far from a dead issue for me until I get tires. and my $ is day to day.

I polished the crap out of these things only to find that they are in need of a sanding down, but they'll look good from a distance. (like the car) lol

I'd really like to get the nitto's if only Discount tire had better service I wouldn't be still running around looking for something acceptable.

weird that your having that experience with Discount Tire. I get all my tires through them and they always have provided excellent service for me. I ordered up a set of NT05s for the TA and they were out of stock, they called me minutes after the order placed and I ended up going with my second choice 555R's which were much more expensive in the size i wanted and they gave em to me for the same price as the NT05s

I called them last week, and asked about them at several shops yesturday, they called Nitto directly and the 555's are on back order nationally meaning you'd be waiting even longer (if they decide to even continue making them). So unless they are in stock you're SOL and that's the problem I found that most places don't have many in stock.

so I'm stuck on these two tires. my question was simply an opinion on them, nobody can answer that question so it's time to learn from experience and live with it.

Doesn't matter I went with proxes4's satisfied for now, we'll see how they are after put some miles on Them. I was looking at 555's, but they might be working them out of production.
