Debatable. I say why waiste the money. They warrantee a compressor as long as you buy a reciever dryer. New one will absorb all moister. I wouldn't worry about it man.

I would take it to a shop. They have a proper setup not a craptastic gauge that's reading lo side pressure.

Step one of course is to see if I can turn up a working used compressor so I don't have to drop $235 on a brand new one.

how are you goin to be sure of the condition of a used compressor. is it going to fail in a week a month a year you cant tell. and by the time you know it 3 used ones later you could have had a new one installed. spend your money once.

Update: This is turning into a serious PITA. I have put two different compressors on the car, both brand new (not reman), different brands, and they both had squeaking pulleys. The stock compressor makes no noise at all, and I had it back on the car in between these two, and no noise. Anyone have any thoughts on what could cause this? Serpentine belt is new. Both pulleys spun freely and made no noise off the car. This is getting aggravating and I really need to figure out a solution.

did you have dye put throw it to see any if there were any leaks?
