Brakes opinion.
This Sunday I just grabbed a complete LS1 front brake swap off Pizza's TA. I'd like to get pads and rotors for them and paint up the whole setup with nice shiny zinc plated rotors. But I found sets for sale on craigslist. One is just Powerstop slotted zinc plated rotors for 120, and the other is a set of both powerstop blank rotors and powerstop ceramic pads for 150. Should I go with the slotted and buy some cheap pads or just get the whole shabang for 150 and be all set?
 I like how the slotted look over the blanks thats about all, but they wear the pads down faster. Whats your opinion?Slotted rotors Powerstop blank rotors and Powerstop ceramic pads

I have Rotors from Irotors.com on my car. They are solid stout pieces, and are zinc coated. They are also Slotted & Drilled for that cool look.... With the current pad materials it really doesn't matter though for actual performance, it's simply about appearance.
I currently run EBC Green pads, but now I would go Red as they've slightly changed the compounds..... I also run Hawk HPS pads on my Subarus and they are very comparable in dust and performance.

I have HPS pads and they stop great although you will get a little dust. I wouldn't put anything but cheapo pads on slotted rotors, unless ceramics hold up better, not sure, I've never used them.

ceramic pads beat on slotted rotors... I swapped my lasr set out for some rotorworks slotted rotors and Hawk pads.

I don't see why everyone thinks Ceramic Pads & Slotted Rotors are a problem.....
The only issue I can see is the PADS will wear quicker as the slots scuff them more.... I suppose if you bought a cheap slotted rotor, but if you did that, then you really don't want Ceramic Pads anyways, as ceramics are typically not cheap...

I run ebc slotted with ebc reds no prob

yeah I didn't get the reds, may have been my mistake. I got some AZ special and hate them. my EBC rotors are fine (had them checked for uneven surface ware), but the pads were grabbed the rotor once they warmed up.
just didn't feel right.

I'm probably either gonna go with the blank rotors and ceramic pads because slotted doesn't do much for me other than looks and eat down my pads faster, orrrrrr just resurface the rotors that came with the ls1 brake swap since they're not worn and be a cheap ass!

duralast golds and slotted rotors that way you just keep swapping them out every year or so
