trying to figure out my cars history

sounds weak but I want to figure it out. I've had it long enough now and I'm not getting rid of it so here is the story I know.

It was bought and lived in Scottsdale Arizona, and it was barely driven mostly sat out there and weekend car. The lady that traded it in for a Mustang where I worked (Ford dealer in Haverhill Ma) was the original owner and it had 37k when she traded it in. Supposedly most of the 37k miles came from the woman driving from friggen Arizona all the way up here to visit her mother... On the way up the water pump and opti went toast she had it fixed and then the ac compressor was screaming and had a coolant leak, thats when she traded it in. Thats the story I was told from my co worker there, so I bought it and fixed the problems and there you have it.

Now I'm trying to find what dealer it was bought at and more history of it maybe even track down the woman stalk her have a convo about its life over tea or something lol. Anyone know how I can go about this like car databases or something? I called all the chevy dealers in scottsdale and they just tried to sell me a car... no info for me. I was thinking of trying carfax but I'm not sure if thats going to give me the info im looking for.

it says it's good for 1977 and up and your Z is a 78, correct?

I know you said the dealer tried selling you a car but I found the dealer were my car came from and they still had a car history from the original owner and faxed all the info of the car to me. Maybe if you be a little more persistent with them someone will take the time to look in the history for you only if they kept the data that far.

Well what more do you want to know. What mileage she changed the oil at. Where did she get gas from? It's not like the car was rare or even that old so I'm not sure what exactly the mystery is about your car.
